Susan Robinson, Vice President of Publications and Communications and Host Mom
Susan has been with Cultural Care Au Pair for 10 years and is currently the Vice President of Publications and Communications. She and her husband have two children, a seven year old son and a six year old daughter, and live in Massachusetts. They have hosted 6 Cultural Care au pairs.
“One of the biggest challenges we face as parents is finding quality, dependable childcare. I often talk to friends who are struggling with their childcare decision, and I tell them the au pair program has been the right choice for my family. It’s personal, it’s flexible and it’s a great option for busy, working parents.”
What’s easy to describe to friends are the program’s convenience and “quality time” advantages. Our au pair, Karina, helps keep our household running smoothly. She reads with Ryan and Katie and gets them started on school projects. She arranges play dates, drives them to Scouts and washes their uniforms. Because Karina takes care of so many of the little things, my husband and I have more quality time to spend with the kids.
What’s harder to explain is the way our au pairs have become part of our family. These wonderful young women have truly enriched our lives. Thanks to Karina and our past au pairs- who are now a flight attendant, a university student, a mom, a concierge, and a kindergarten teacher-Ryan and Katie’s childhood memories will include fun Polish words and lively Brazilian songs. Our au pairs have been loving caregivers for our children and also partners and friends.
I’m always excited to introduce people to Cultural Care Au Pair. I encourage you to get to know us- read our brochure, talk to our staff, meet your local coordinator, and let us put you in touch with other families. I hope you find that, like so many of my friends, welcoming an au pair into your home, and your hearts, is the right choice for your family.
